Trust me, I'm a stomach

First up, huge congratulations to the two Katies (Katie H, aka Egypt Katie, and Katie T, aka Ubiquitous Interweb KT) who within days of each other got engaged to their respective Brendons and Mats. That's terrific!

The weather here has been just gorgeous, and as such I've been spending large chunks of my free time at the lovely Nydala lake (pictured above), which is just a few minutes cycle from my apartment. The water is still a bit chilly, but definitely swimmable, and there's lots of good bbq locations apt for the cooking of meat with some compadres.

Last few weeks I've been busy putting together two journal papers, one on clinical trials of our cerebrospinal fluid dynamics identification algorithm, and another on transverse dynamics of periodic orbits of Lagrangian systems. Both exciting in their respective ways, but completely different in their content, so it's quite hard to jump back and forth between them each day. Will be a relief to send them off.

Some of you may be interested to hear that I've recently been discussing more collaboration with the Sav-man, and it looks like I'll be back in Australia for a couple of months starting November or December.

To close, here's a Loch Ness Monster style shot from the lake:

It's a tough job, but if possible I want to plan the trip so that
a) Sav-man pays for it (obviously)
b) I fit in as many social functions as possible, including at least two weddings, and my 10 year high school reunion.

So if you come to the reunion, does that mean you have to go ahead with that sex change operation?

Nice pictures! It must be lovely and weird having such long days. It means less sleep. I think that the dark winters make more sense when you come of the back of hectic long day summers.
