Vegemite, pavlova, VB, lamb chops, ocker rock
My Oz Day party had it all!

(some pics soon)
- I made three pavs. Cheated with a store-bought meringue base, but I hand-whipped fresh cream (hard work!), and managed to find passionfruit, kiwi fruit, and banana for the topping. They turned out awesome.
- Everyone loved the pav, almost everyone hated the vegemite (but one or two liked it), and the same was true for its liquid form, VB.
- Everyone enjoyed, or at least tolerated, my selection of ocker rock: from acca dacca, through inxs and the oils, custard and you am i, through to hilltop hoods and sleepy jackson, and everything in between. Oh, and a bit of men at work, gangajang, icehouse and even Peter Allen (it wouldn't be right otherwise...)
- Afterwards we went in to town, most of us went to a club called Scharinska which was wikid, but a few went to a concert where the floor collapsed injuring 30 people - nobody I know was hurt though.
- Party was on Saturday - a day late, I know, but I was up late on friday preparing two papers for NOLCOS, one two, in case anyone's interested.

Oh well done on all counts. It sounds like a wonderful effort. We have work Australia Day drinks this Wednesday, so the kiwis can get a look in (apparently they have a special day too, though I don't see why we should care, in fact I would have thought that the whole idea would be to set it up so that the kiwis don't get a look-in). Pav is wonderful. Long live Pav. Pav and VB is also a highly underrated combination.
ooh, kiwis... I predict it will degenerate into a fight over who invented pavlova! And Crowded House! And Russle Crowe (actually, they can have him)
p.s. My complete inability to spell the name Russell shows my lack of respect for Mr. Crowe (but not my uncle of the same name. Russell, I mean, not Crowe).
and delta goodrem!
is she from new zealand?
or are you saying she makes a highly underrated combination with VB?
overrated more like .. grumble grumble.. damn delta and her damn cancer... grumble grumble.. can't sing a bloody note.
Made a few pavs with a fork over in Thailand.... all turned out well, but arms were very sore! Glad I had Choco around to contribute some muscle....
Good work! The whole world will know the wonder of pavlova.
You're lucky, I could have used an oversized hairless red-spotty coon to do some whipwork.
Couldn't we all?
Sorry, I went and saw Priscilla the Musical last night and the camp old man drag queen phrases are stuck in my head.
