Feel the itch of real wool!
Behold, Guatemalan Ugg:

Sooo nice on a chilly morning!
Anniversary is coming up: on Sunday it will be exactly one year since I left Sydney, on my way to Sweden via Melbourne and London.
In the space of that year, I've taken 56 plane flights, that's more times than I've caught a bus or driven a car in the same period. And yes, I counted them up while I was bored... on a plane.
Sydney-Melbourne, Melbourne-Singapore, Singapore-London, London-Stockholm, Stockholm-Umeå, Umeå-Stockholm, Stockholm-London, London-Stockholm, Stockholm-Umeå, Umeå-Stockholm, Stockholm-London, London-NYC, NYC-London, London-Stockholm, Stockholm-Umeå, Umeå-Kiruna, Kiruna-Umeå, Umeå-Stockholm, Stockholm-Oslo, Oslo-Bergen, Bergen-Ålesund, Molde-Oslo, Oslo-Stockholm, Stockholm-Umeå, Umeå-Stockholm, Stockholm-London, London-Singapore, Singapore-Sydney, Sydney-Brisbane, Brisbane-Bundaberg, Gladstone-Brisbane, Brisbane-Sydney, Sydney-Singapore, Singapore-London, London-Stockholm, Stockholm-Umeå, Umeå-Stockholm, Stockholm-Umeå, Umeå-Stockholm, Stockholm-Vienna, Vienna-Madrid, Madrid-Vienna, Vienna-Stockholm, Stockholm-Umeå, Umeå-Stockholm, Stockholm-Philadelphia, Philadelphia-Vegas, San Diego-Dallas, Dallas-Guatemala, Guatemala-Dallas, Dallas-San Fransisco, San Fransisco-Philadelphia, Philadelphia-Stockholm, Stockholm-Umeå, Oslo-Stockholm, Stockholm-Umeå.
Sheesh.
Deadline for ECC has been extended, thank hank.
Locked in: I'll be spending most of November as a visiting academic at the Sungkyunkwan Intelligent Systems Research Center in Korea.
If you go to their site, and click on "About ISRC", it says "As you are aware of, the era of any-X communication among humans and machines is fast approaching"!
I'm not sure I know exactly what that means, but it sounds pretty exciting. But I would like to try to convince them that humans and machines can communicate with the other letters of the alphabet too. Could really open things up.
Question: with all the wierd and different measures of weights, distances, temperature, etc in the world, why is it that everyone uses the same measure of time? Why don't Americans have, e.g., 117.3 minutes to the hour? (or "temporal ounce" as it would probably be called).
Be thankful for the little nothings where a something would be damned inconvenient.

Oh yes - it's hard enough to find a kind of milk you like to drink when in other countries. It also gets worse - they pronounce Pantene shampoo 'Pantenne' here FOR NO GOOD REASON.
It's the little things that CAN REALLY FREAK YOU OUT.
I think they do it TO MESS WITH YOUR MIND.
Have you thought about applying to Getaway? Bet Andrew Daddo is getting on by now?
Perhaps the Catholic Church is considering disbarring machines from the faith?
ah, that explains why the South Koreans are so concerned - if the machines become athiests, they'll side with the godless communists of the North!
Oh no!
p.s. Katie, it's no good, as soon as one Daddo goes down, three more pop up in his place.
you're on fire at the moment Christophe!
Oh!!! I thought it was a totally different shampoo!! Panteeeene!
I am not following any of this god machine talk. Are they looking for Daddo now?
PS - I want some of your ugg action. I want it bad.
Er - I mean that in a "I really need some slippers" way, not a "I have picked up some mighty strange fetishes on my travels" way. The intonation between those two is just so subtle. Often cofused.
hey, it's natural to get excited about slippers.
(sexy voice) you know, I'm wearing them right now.... and I'm about to make a cup of tea...
