Yo tengo una tía que toca la guitarra

Apparently that's a Spanish proverb. It means "I have an aunt that plays the guitar". Mmmmmm, wisdom.

Well, paper is finished and submitted to the editors, so I can relax now and start to plan my trip, which commences in less than 48 hours. Weee!

The only thing I know so far: lots of Tapas!

What?

Ah the wizdom of the ancients. How much can be learned.

congrats re paper. re holiday, enjoy!

re Spain - I don't mind fish and fish related meals, and my stomach has been likened to an iron tank, but I sat down to a truly fishy dish in a tapas bar in Lleida. Damn that was fishy!!

madrid is rockin, largely due to my presence but I suspect it would rock quite hard even in my absence.

On the flight I was lucky enough to be seated in the middle of a group of spanish journalists who have been investigating the political upheaval in Romania as it works towards EU membership. The upshot being they gave me lots of jubbly info about bars and restaurants in Madrid, and a CabCharge to get to my hostel from the airport, saving me about 25 euros.

I much prefer the villages where the maidens are easy and the living is fair but each to their own I suppose.

Alas, poor I-rock. I fear your hilarious sense of humour shall be lost on los espanoles.

Content yourself with hilarious blog postings involves pictures of bad Spanish mullets and sangria all over your t-shirt.

I know I will.
