Oh cool. I had it in my head that it was north, for some explicable reason (i.e. I seem to forget the location of things at the same rate as I learn them, and have done so for quite a while).

You could in theory. You have to be a member of the dive club, but you can join just for the trip.
The problem is that this trip is very popular, and unless you put yourself on the waiting list a few months ago you'd be lucky to get on. I've been on the list for a while, and I only got a chance because someone else pulled out.
