and/or slash etcetera
First up, I have updated the little "blogs I peruse" link on the right. Two blogs have been removed, because of a certain Marie Celeste air they've developed lately. It's sad to see them go as they were the ones that introduced me to the whole bloggy thing, and all the nice people that came with it. But, as the song says... well there's lots of songs that say various things about stuff. (Hey, it's not like the people are dead, but I'll miss their blogs!)
On a more positive note, I've finally gotten around to linking to Jo and Jeremy, my compadres through Spain and Norway, and Choco aka Chris aka Ceedy has started a blog of his own, rather than just distributing his wit across all the others.
Regulars may recall this post, where I marvelled at how much I had to do between now (which is now then) and October (which is even sooner than it was).
Obviously, USA, Pare's visit and Norway went off very nicely indeed.
One thing I forgot to mention, in fact clean forgot all about until it was almost upon me, was that I had booked myself on another hiking trip on the weekend to MarsfjÀllen, a mountain about 350km west of here. Photos here. Twas very nice, we climbed a mountain, saw reindeer in their natural habitat, ate fuckloads of blueberries, saw the northen lights.
My new underwater camera setup has arrived, but I still haven't negotiated a flight home from the Sav-man yet, so dunno when I'll get to use it.
The other big things on the list were less recreational and more professional in nature, and that's whats left between now and Saturday.
On Wednesday a big funding application is due, so I am busy simultaneously learning about and trying to write like I'm an expert in magnetic resonance imaging, and its application in modelling cerebrospinal fluid dynamics.
On Thursday we have some people visiting our lab, who I think have either given us money or are thinking about doing so, and we have to demonstrate our projects.
Then Saturday is the deadline for the European Control Conference, for which I'm about 30% of the way through writing a paper.
Sunday I plan to sleep.
In other news, apparently the guy who adapted The Office for the US market wants to do a yankee version of Kath and Kim. Somebody's gotta tell that guy to stop trying to shit higher than his arse. Not gonna work.

I initially read your post as saying your 'new underwear camera setup has arrived'. This both disturbed and intrigued me until I re-read the sentence.
Thanks for the blog-a-link.
well... judging by the photos that came out of the last reef trip, that may have been the better investment
I'm NUMBER ONE!
WINNER!
In your face: everyone else!
OBNOXIOUS VICTORY DANCE!
I-rock, I really think you should reconsider the rankings of our blogs.
KT is clearly being obnoxious, and I know that you only put her first because you felt guilty when she had your blog as No. 1 on hers.
She's changed that now, so you need feel no obligation.
It's time, Ian. *Nudge*
Actually, it's chronological... so KT can justly proclaim herself the winner of an endurance race, for having the blog that I've regularly read for the longest time...
(Tangles could equal her, but she's been ruled out on a name-change technicality)
Why can't americans just laugh at the same jokes as everyone else? Why the need to recast, say in american accent, and generally shit all over great comedy?!
Dickheads, I say, dickheads!
Well they gave us Ben and Jerry's, you can't have EVERYTHING.
